Running out of chips (going all-in) typically keeps you active if you still have chips in play, though you cannot continue betting further.
When a player goes all-in with fewer chips than the current bet, a side pot is created. Only players who have contributed chips matching the all-in player’s bet can contend for the main pot and any side pots created. Active players contending for a larger side pot can also win the main pot and smaller side pots, but they can only win from pots they’ve contributed to.
